Talk About Blyton!

Unlisted - Enid Blyton in general – Best books

February 13, 2017 – brendan fitzpatrick says: Well there were so many, during the school holidays my sister and myself were usually first in the line for the library to open. We would discuss with others which were the best books to borrow. A girl behind me was returning The Secret Mountain, she said that it was very good. I waited for quite a long time before it was returned to the shelf and quickly grabbed it, a wise move. We were allowed 3 books each so my sister and myself would normally read them in the evening after a day of looking out for houses which could hide criminal gangs and kidnapped royalty, alas we never found any. Other great books were The Boy Next Door and The Rubadub Mystery. Happy days.
Buster says... Buster says: Great choice with The Boy Next Door.
January 25, 2018 – Adam says: Hi everybody, As a big fan of Blyton's "Mystery" series and the Famous Five, I've always wondered what other people's favourite Byton series are! Please share them with me! Certainly, the "Mystery" series appeals to me as I love the setting, and as I grew up in the City, life in a quaint old village has always got my imagination running - I've spent hours on end writing up my own mystery stories, though not nearly as good as old Blyton! Not to mention the thrill when I was younger in reading about other kids solving mysteries and adventures! Regards, Adam.
April 8, 2018 – Beca says: My personal favourite when I was about 8/9 was Malory Towers, simply because I wanted to go to a boarding school myself, but after reading most of her other series it has changed to the Famous Five - an obvious, predictable answer, probably, but I just genuinely love the characters and the adventures they have, and I believe it's for people of any age (as a 15 year old I still enjoy them and pick up one of them when I want a light read that I know I'll enjoy). Every single series of EB offers something different and exciting, which I think is amazing, but as I said, my favourite series has to be the Famous Five!
